Pond - Elvis' Flaming Star
Macarella: This band shares 3 members with Tame Impala. Also, wtf ever happened to silly string?
Tiga - Bugatti
Kreepler: Beef chiefs, here's a ridiculous video for a kinda catchy new song.
Whiskey: It took my halfway through that song to realize this isn't Tyga going a new direction. Especially tricky with a song named after a luxury car.
Dinosaur Feathers - Zeitgeist
Foggy Goggles: These guys put out their first album ~2 years ago, semi-solid indie rock. They have gotten significantly funkier and better at writing music since then.
SBTRKT - NEW DORP. NEW YORK
Tatarsky: Pretty fuckin dope. and has no genre. Paul Simon + Gorillaz + Brazilian Girls? Should be a thing.
Communions - So Long Sun
Whiskey: Straight outta Copenhagen. Sounds like Real Estate, and someone smarter than I says "Communions have a tattered sense of nostalgia for the golden Brit-pop era of the mid-80s", to which I say:
This song title is also what I usually cut into my forearm around this time of year. #seasonal #emotions

Mac DeMarco - Salad Days
Tatarsky: Track's been out for a minute but wanted to bring it back on the radar. Salad days are gone for most of us, if they were ever here.
Adrien Brody: Tell those junior Beatles' haters on Twitter that Mac is lo-fi Lennon post-Beatles. Dumb shits.
Yelle - Complètement fou
King Troll: Euro euro ok!
Maroon 5 - Sex and Candy
Tatarsky: I didn't wake up this morning thinking I'd listen to Adam Levine cover a 90s throwback on repeat.
Willow Smith - Easy Easy
Adrien Brody: 13 years old, covering King Krule, voice sounds great.
BONUS: 90s NYC Hip Hop Warm Up

Vic Mensa - Wimme Nah
Adrien Brody: Chance shouldn't get all the love as the latest and greatest out of Chi.
King Tuff - Eyes of the Muse
Whiskey: New psychedelia from King Tuff, who is just a dude named Kyle Thomas from Louisiana. Interesting story behind his debut album, which was recently re-released after its initial, super-limited launch over a decade ago.
Miami Horror - Wild Motion (Set It Free)
Foggy Goggles: I've been a big fan of these Aussie electropop-rockers since they put out their first and only album a few years ago. Singles are trickling in during 2014, and I can only imagine we'll see a full album soon enough. In the meantime, here is a great fucking track that they released last week. Add it to your list of summer jams.
Vince Staples - Blue Suede
Tatarsky: Hot fire from the west side.
Dotan - Home (live)
Devo: Super catchy Norwegian song. If you don't hate Bastille you will really like it. If you hate Bastille you still might like it or at least find yourself humming it later.
Wildcat! Wildcat! - Holloway (Hey, Love)
JoeCon: These guys do a pretty good Beach House impression.
The War on Drugs - An Ocean in between the Waves (Traumzeit Festival Special)
Kyle: Lost in the Dream is shaping up to be one of my favorite records of the year.

Ella Eyre - If I Go
Devo: Your girlfriend/wife/significant other is going to be listening to Ella Eyre this summer/fall. You can decide if you want to introduce her to them or not.
Tiger Love - Summer Rain
Ding: Now I've heard a couple songs from Tiger Love that transcend novelty and I'm frustrated. Who are these guys? Where are they? Where is Tiger Love on the band realness index of ambiguously legitimate bands? Are they more or less real than MIlli Vanilii? Spinal Tap? Stillwater?
The Kite String Tangle - Given the Chance
Hollering: Randomly came across this song today and can't get enough of it. Feels like an upbeat James Blake. Late 80s/Early 90s pop-synth. Over-sized sweatshirts and neon colors. I'm bad at describing music things. Lil' mama in the video is fly, too.
Bas - Charles De Gaulle to JFK (Last Winter)
Ding: Shout out to Shmoo for putting me on this dude Bas rappin under J Cole. Killin it on heavy ro and whatnot. Big things at SXSW this year, from what I hear. Who's this Charles De Gaulle guy?

Kishi Bashi - Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!
Foggy Goggles: Remember that cohesive, 12-song journey where you made love to a pretty blond girl at her father's house on Martha's Vineyard. In the rain. While crying.
Stromae - Formidable
Devo: Stromae is a half-black Belgian rapper. He's apparently a big deal everywhere that speaks French. Apologies in advance if you find yourself stuck on this, 44m listens on Spotify with limited American involvement predicates a serious earworm.
TOBACCO - Father Sister Berzerker
Hollering: If I ran, I imagine this would be a great song to listen to.
CARL: His song "Streaker" is pretty dope, too, and the vid is creepy as fuck and directed by Eric Wareheim.
Jurassic 5 - The Way We Do It
Adrien Brody: I just stepped into a time machine to the early aughts.

SOHN - The Wheel
Ding: Nice recco on the SOHN disc, guys. Can't wait for somebody to do a face-melting EDM remix of Lights.
Big Data - Dangerous
Whiskey: Hadn't heard of this group until this song, so I googled them and this is what it said: "Big Data is an electronic pop duo whose music and lyrics focus on the hazards of the Internet age, in particular with respect to user privacy and NSA surveillance." NERDS. But setting aside how weird these guys must be, this is pretty straightforward power pop shit from 1982.
Todd Terje - Delorean Dynamite
Tatarsky: Painful craving for a box of whip-its. Also a great one for your next jog.
Young & Sick - Heartache Fetish
Foggy Goggles: I stumbled upon these guys on some 'bands you missed at Coachella' list. One album and its phenomenal, electro rock with heavy male vocal harmonies, somewhere between old Yeaysayer and new disco.
Son Little - Cross My Heart
Kyle: My man's had a few previous musical incarnations. Criminal that these songs he's put out as Son Little haven't gotten more attention.

Mr. Little Jeans - Good Mistake
RePete: electronic pop, whiffs of rock, from a Norwegian.
Frank Ocean + Mick Jones + Paul Simonon + Diplo - "HERO"
Adrien Brody: Converse's "Three Artists, One Song" series came correct this week. Get on it.
The War on Drugs - An Ocean in Between the Waves
Devo: This disc is special.
DJ Snake & Lil Jon - Turn Down for What
Whiskey: I like the scene at 1:15 where the Indian girl can no longer resist and drops an Atomic Facesit.
Lee Fields & The Expressions - Faithful Man
Adrien Brody: This track is a barnburner. Good for waking up on Sundays and reevaluating life.

Hozier - Take Me To Church
Tatarsky: 25 times this weekend, at least.
Dillon Francis & DJ Snake - Get Low
Whiskey: Great banger that will make you forget Lil John has a song by the same name.
Major Lazer Ft. Pharrell - Aerosol Can
Adrien Brody: Skateboard P spits some fire...
Little Dragon - Klapp Klapp
Whiskey: One of those songs that sounds 10x better with a good speaker situation and not earbuds.
BONUS TRACK
Broken Bells with Ringo Starr - "And I Love Her"
h/t Hathaway

Beck - Blue Moon
Joe Con: This sounds promising.
Lady - Get Ready
Adrien Brody: A must see live. Nicole Wray, one half of this duo, used to sing hooks for Missy Elliot.
Warpaint - Love Is To Die
macarella: I learned that John Frusciante was impressed by their "murky spaciousness and stripped down arrangements" and actually mixed their EP. Kinda similar to the sound of his solo work during the (first?) heroine fueled hiatus from the Peppers.
Raleigh Ritchie - Bloodsport
Adrien Brody: Came across this ballad last night and listened four or five times before bed. It helped sooth my crippling Sunday night anxiety and I rested a solid three hours before my first night terror.

Blood Orange - You're Not Good Enough
Laird: Do your best not to look at the frightening cover art and the album goes down smooth.
Bars of Gold - Blue Lightning
macarella: I got this from a Top New Artist of 2013 list and I've been steady rockin it since. Kinda reminds me of Fugazi.
Klingande - Jubel
Devo: Sweet sax.
Bonobo - Cirrus
Whiskey: Bonus trivia, Bonobo chimps are the swingers of the animal kingdom.
Willis Earl Beal - Coming Through
Devo: Just when you think you are on top of your game NPR drops a list of 100 songs and you've heard maybe 35.
BONUS THROWBACK
Bruce Springsteen - Red Headed Woman
Tatarsky: Heard this in a Spanish cab last night. Should have invited that guy to the blog.
